The Residences Water Square
Located on the former Joe Louis Arena site along the Detroit riverfront, this high-rise, multi-family development combines premium apartment units, amenities, and retail components for Detroit residents.

vision
By transforming the former Joe Louis Arena site, the Residences Water Square activates a formerly underutilized riverfront site. With floor-to-ceiling windows, outdoor spaces, and views of downtown to the Gordie Howe Bridge, this development is a celebration of Detroit’s ever evolving riverfront.

detail
The apartments are a blend of studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom units. Amenities include ground-level retail, indoor bike-storage, fitness center, and leisure pool + balcony. The rooftop has two large community rooms with an outdoor wrap-around terrace.

secret
Floorplates are laid out for the most efficient unit count, shear-wall locations and floor slab thickness. To make the building appear taller, the exterior glazing is accented with a metal fin, featuring different glazing on each side. Looking from afar, one might see the shape of a key.
