Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Centennial Park
Description
This 22-acre park combines nature and community in an urban setting, featuring sports courts, a water garden, playscapes inspired by Michigan wildlife, and a promenade lined with cherry trees that stretches across the park.
The originally bare site is being transformed into a rolling landscape along the riverfront, designed to attract and engage users of all ages. Extensive community engagement was done to design the amenities within the park, such as using local children’s drawings as inspiration for playscape structures.
When completed, this massive park will be the first of its kind in the state of Michigan, making the Detroit Riverfront a destination for visitors and locals alike.Tasks
