Description
In the heart of a walkable downtown setting, Michigan State University Federal Credit Union's new Berkley branch features a floor-to-ceiling glass front elevation, "inviting" the public in and maximizing natural light. The smaller of two prototypes designed by Neumann/Smith, the branch includes three private offices and four areas for Financial Service Representatives (FSR). Rebranding efforts included the elimination of traditional teller stations and new FSR stations developed to give sense of privacy and personal attention.
The traditional drive-thru element with air tubes was also switched out for ITMs (Interactive Teller Machines), allowing members to virtually have all of the same tasks executed via machine as if they were sitting inside the branch.
Branch interiors offer large branding screens, tech bars and touchscreens. These new technology features allow members to check balances, make appointments and queue up. They also serve as a teaching tools for employees to show members features of their website and how to access tools and resources.
MSUFCU's branch interiors now feel open and spacious with exposed construction ceilings and large windows, while the exteriors are comprised of traditional red brick (fitting in with the majority of environments). Elements of green, glazed brick, wood-look panels and metal panels make up the branch's main entrance.Info
