HAPPENINGS / DESIGN FORWARD / SACHSE CONSTRUCTION WORKPLACE
After seven years of substantial growth, Detroit-based contractor Sachse Construction once again enlisted Neumann/Smith to design a workplace showcasing the Sachse brand. Sachse chose to relocate their headquarters from the downtown Detroit Arts League building to midtown’s Orchestra Place.
Focusing on Sachse’s core values, the midtown location consolidated their team on one floor plate to foster communication and collaboration amongst the organization. Facilitating an exceptional user experience from start to finish, the workplace was curated into a refined yet light, lively, timeless and clean space.
Every element was specially selected to fit the Sachse brand and mission. From the raw, structural materials used to define space, to the color palette helping to navigate throughout the floor plate; Neumann/Smith helped create a unique showpiece for both visitors and employees in the prominent midtown area.
The condensed floor plate includes a mix of open workstations, collaboration spaces, meeting rooms, lounge, café, and gaming area. Garage style doors provide flexibility to accommodate meetings large and small. Big and bold elements including statement furniture pieces and lighting help compliment a sophisticated headquarters.
Neumann/Smith team members included, President Joel Smith, Senior Designer Charlott Glaab, and Project Architect Phil Herriges. In collaboration with Sachse Construction, Stuart Mechanical, Morrey’s Contracting, local Haworth dealer: Airea, and MOD Interiors.
