Northern Michigan University / Career and Engineering Technology
Description
The transformation of the Jacobetti Complex at Northern Michigan University resulted in a reduction of the original building by 40,000 square feet. The Career and Engineering Technology facility welcomes students with a complete redesign of its facade and interiors.
Situated slightly set back from the road, the metal, brick, and glass façade provide a captivating entrance to the facility. The primary objective of the interior renovations was to enhance visibility within the building. To achieve this, we strategically incorporated windows into the CNC and welding labs, student collaboration rooms, and a versatile innovation center that can accommodate demonstrations.
In selecting materials and finishes for this project, we sought to pay homage to the raw materials that are integral to the engineering and technology industry. By doing so, we have not only created aesthetically pleasing spaces but also established dedicated study zones, collaboration areas, and learning environments that cater to the unique needs of the students.Tasks
