LEED Certified
The new AAA Branch replaces an existing building that served the company for the past fifty years. The design responds to its high profile location by artfully communicating the company’s image through the use of dynamic architectural forms and contextual materials and scale. The new building combines retail and office functions into a cohesive whole, while it adheres to sustainable site and building design ideals.
The L-shaped building is set against the front lot lines of the corner site to integrate with adjacent neighboring buildings and screen the surface parking lot from view. The corner is marked with a soaring glass tower entry which is capped with a modern interpretation of a cornice. Decorative lighting, hanging clouds, sloped ceilings, warm inviting colors, and a unique lobby display create a dynamic retail environment. At night, the interior retail design, color, ceiling treatment and lighting, combine with the exterior sconce lighting and glass tower to create, enhance and extend the downtown pedestrian experience.
The landmark building is the first LEED Certified building for both the company and the City. Sustainable design measures include a well insulated building envelope, high efficiency mechanical and lighting systems, water saving plumbing fixtures, extensive use of low VOC emitting interior finishes, and the incorporation of measurement and verification systems.
